Three weeks after birth, we felt adventurous (plus I was craving for sushi), we went to a Japanese restaurant for lunch. I fed the baby, changed his diaper, packed everything we possibly need for a two hour trip and load the baby to the car seat. Here we came, SUSHI!!!
Nihal, the Turk Dad, dropped me and my parents at the restaurant and went to park. We sat down and waited for Nihal and baby to join us. Few minutes later, Nihal came without baby..... EMRE WAS IN THE CAR BY HIMSELF (OMG, OMG, OMG!)....... Apparently, the new dad forgot his son for sushi. I was yelling at him to get the baby right away. My parents were laughing. Nihal was saying "it's just a few minutes". God knows what can happen in a few minutes.
To my dear son: When you grow up and go out with your dad alone, ALWAYS have your eyes on your dad. Otherwise he might come home without you.
The lunch was not very successful. Emre peed through his clothes. Because I was holding him, my top was wet with pee. There was no changing table in the restaurant. I changed him on the chair. I ate, or more accurately swallowed sushi, but did not savor it. Hopefully next time will be a more elegant trip.
